Life of the 18th Century Physician

Bold Gold Media Speaker Series presents Professor Donald Terpening

and “The Life of the 18th Century Physician.” One of the original Cushetunk settlers

was a Medical Doctor named John Calkin, who eventually moved to the Wyoming Valley

of Pennsylvania, where settlers offered him a parcel of prime land in return for

his services as a physician. Professor Terpening offers insights

into how a physician and surgeon might have lived and

practiced in the second half of the 18th century at 3 p.m.
