The Delaware Company is now hiring costumed interpreters for seasonal employment at Fort Delaware for about 32 hours per week from May thru October. An educational background in history is preferred, but not required. Some skill in 18th century crafts such as spinning, weaving, armaments, woodworking, blacksmithing, etc. is a plus. Clothing and training will be provided. The ability to interact with the public is essential. This work is performed mainly outdoors, and requires some physical activity. Applicants of all ages will be considered.

Applicants must be willing to learn the basics of the colonial history of the region and to dress in colonial attire.

The Fort is open from Thursday thru Sunday, plus Monday holidays, so the willingness and availability to work weekends and holidays (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day) is a must.
